Copley Society of Boston awards Sam Vokey with the 2007 "John Singleton Copley Award"
This prestigious award is the highest honor given out by the Copley Society and is given to Copley Masters who have not only proven their artistic merit but who have also helped the gallery reach its mission of engaging the community.

1. Museum Acquisition:
A new still life by Sam Vokey has been approved by the Acquisition
Committee at The Cape Cod Museum Of Art in Dennis, MA. His painting
titled "Orange and Hydrangeas" will become part of the
permanent collection and will hang with paintings by: Childe Hassam,
Charles Hawthorne, J.J. Enneking, J.E. Enneking, Henry Hensche, Robert
Hunter, Joseph McGurl, Bill Davis. If you would like to visit the museum, the hours and directions may be found on their website at: www.ccmoa.org

2. Latest Award:
Sam recently won the prestigious "R.H.Ives Gammell Award" at the Guild
of Boston Artists "Annual Members Show 2006" in Boston. The Guild is located at 162 Newbury Street, Boston, MA (hours: 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Tuesday thru Saturday.) Visit the Guild's webiste at: www.guildofbostonartists.org
